Story:
We started our adventure at 22:00 on thursday night with our 15 minute walk down to the train station. Like always, we were running a little late and had no tickets or change to buy it from the machine. When we were trying to buy the tickets we see the train approach and we knew that we only had 4 minutes to buy, validate, and get in the train. With machines not working and validating tickets on the other side was a nerve racking and panic for not being able to get into the last train to Rome. Once we saw the train stop Esther ran to the train trying to hold the door, but on her way to the train she fell...oh...that was hillarious! just picture this...there is this girl on the floor with a huge backpack on her back and with her curly hair everywhere in her face and screaming, "nobody move, do not pick me up" while moving her head from side to side like a crazy person. One guy tried to help her get up but she kept on saying..."nobody move, DO NOT PICK ME UP, GET AWAY, where are my glasses, DO NOT MOVE" but her glasses were hanging in her hair and i am trying to calm her down and help her get in the train but she keeps moving. finally I grab the glasses and give them to her and tell her that if we don't get in the train ASAP that we might not make it to Barcelona. Once on the train we started laughing at her, after all the panic had passe, of course.
Once in Rome we had to wait for almost four hours for a bus to the airport. The chairs in the cafe were so uncomfortable to sit, much less to sleep. At 4:30 am we boarded the bus and made it to the airport just in time to check in and board the plane. Two hours later we landed in an airport 1.30 hrs away from Barcelona, we did not know it was this far. we had to buy another bus thicket to Barcelona and made it to the city at noon. Once we found our hostel we could not check in till 2:00 pm, at this point we were tired, hungry, and very sleepy. Pulling an all-niter in a cafe is not fun when you are trying to follow an agenda as a tourist. We had lunch and then headed to a starbucks near the hostel to wait for our check in time. Once in Starbucks we found some really comfortable sofas and not wanting we fell asleep for about 30 minutes. i was out as soon as we sat down. i still can't believe that we slept in a starbucks. At 1:55 we headed back to hour hostel and once in our room we decided to take a nap. That day was weird, rainy, and we were really tired. We decided to find a good place to eat and to walk around the city for 2 hrs. by 11:30 we were sleeping and resting for Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday we did a lot. We walked in Las Ramblas, had a weird lunch at a buffet place for only 9 euro, went to the Aquarium (the biggest in Europe, i think) and walked for about 3 miles up hill to Montjuic mirador. At 11:30 Jenna and I decided to go Salsa Dancing...it was amazing! even though they dance a little different i was able to dance with about 8 different persons. *funny story* this guy, a lawyer, invited me for a drink after dancing and i accepted the offer to be polite. I didn't ordered anything since when i dance salsa i don't drink. He started telling me how good i danced and that i was so beautiful and that he knew that we were meant for each other, and all that crap. I told him that i was there for the weekend only and he said that Barcelona was going to be sad the day i had to leave...after being annoyed with all that crap i told him that i had to go look for my friend and that it was nice to meet him. Well, he did not wanted me to leave without giving him a kiss, which i denied and told him that i couldn't b/c i had a "boyfriend" after a while of me not wanting to kiss me this other guy came up to rescue me. We danced for a while and i was so grateful for his help that i gave him a hug. When i was about to go look for Jenna a song that i really like started playing so i decided to dance one more song with him. being the gentleman and good dancer that he was he was one of the first ones that let me do a freestyle while dancing. After he showed me his moves i copied what he did and he was surprised. He bowed and said that i was amazing. i just started laughing and kept dancing. during the song he gave me his gold necklace and said that i deserved it. I tried to give it back but he wouldn't let me. After two songs he had to leave b/c he had to work at 8 in the morning the next day. he gave me his phone number and said to call him and that he would wait for me whenever i returned to Barcelona. he gave me a kiss on the forehead and in my cheeks and left saying that i should call him since i did not wanted to give him my phone number. that is my weird story. We left the club around 5:30 am and got back in the hostel at 6 am. the next day we woke up at 1 pm...what a way to not enjoy the city.
Esther and I decided to explore the rest of the city on Sunday. The four of us had brunch at Si Senor restaurant and got free Margaritas and tequila shots from the bartenders. Barcelona is gorgeous and a great place to go dancing . We went to many historical places including Picasso's Museum and the Olympics place. I would love to go back one day and stay there for at least 3 weeks. My first experience in Spain was amazing, aside from not really sleeping.
This weekend Rachel and I took a day trip to Pisa and Lucca. We walked and took pictures. It was a nice day and we had a good relaxing time.
Today Sunday, Esther and I did our morning routine and decided to walk to the castle that i can see from my window. The castle is about 3 miles up hill from our town. We made it in two hours to the castle and back. Today was such a beautiful day to walk outside and get some sun. I can't wait till i can run in the sun to have my color back.
Well, that is all for right now. Next weekend Esther, Teri, Ashley and I are going to Cinque Terre. We are walking to b/w five towns in 2 days. I hope we have good weather and that everything works out in our last weekend trip.
I am tired and ready to go to bed, and I don't want to leave ITALY! I am not ready to go back, not yet...I can stay here for another month (if i had more money...hehe)
Have a great week!
Molti baci e abraci!
Tons of Luv!!!
